Those who want to keep their smiles beautiful and healthy throughout their lives will make sure that they practice proper Jupiter dental care. Caring for your teeth and gums involves 3 basic steps – brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.
You’ll need to brush your teeth and gums at least twice a day. If possible, do so within 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals to remove the film of bacteria that get stuck to your teeth called plaque. Without brushing for 2 to 3 minutes, the food you eat and the bacteria in plaque will produce acids that lead to cavities. Proper brushing technique starts with a pea-sized dab of fluoride toothpaste on your soft-bristled toothbrush. Next, you tilt your brush at a 45˚ angle against your gumline while you move it across your teeth in small circular motions. Make sure that the bristles reach the crevices of your back teeth’s chewing surfaces and the sides that face the tongue. Use up-and-down positions while you brush the insides of your upper and lower front teeth. Next, use gentle strokes to brush your tongue from the back forward. Lastly, rinse your mouth with a mouthwash. Remember to have your toothbrush replaced every 3 to 4 months.
Flossing once a day is a must because it helps you eliminate the food and plaque between teeth in hard-to-reach areas. Without flossing, you’ll increase your chances of developing hardened plaque called tartar. Wind an 18-inch strip of floss around your middle fingers and leave an inch or two to work with. Gently follow the curves of each tooth and be sure to have the gumline cleaned without injuring your gums.
Proper Jupiter dentalcare won’t be complete without visiting your dentist at least once every 6months for check-ups and professional cleanings.
