Oral cancer is becoming more prevalent and is affecting more people everyday. As awareness grows we are learning that all people, from all backgrounds and ages are susceptible to oral cancer. New research shows that 3 out of 4 people are infected with HPV at some point in their lives. Oral HPV increases your risk for oral cancer fifty-fold.

Oral cancer kills one American every hour! That’s why it is important to catch it as soon as possible. Studies show that when found at an early stage of development (Stage I and II), oral cancers have an 80-90% survival rate. The problem is that the majority of oral cancers are found in late stages (Stage III and IV), resulting in a mortality rate of 43 percent at a five-year diagnosis (for all stages combined).

Oral ID is the newest treatment modality available. OralID uses a proven, optically based technology called “fluorescence technology.” OralID’s fluorescence technology uses a blue light that allows a clinician to identify oral cancer, pre-cancer and other abnormal lesions at an earlier stage.  These lesions may otherwise appear normal to the naked eye, so, by diagnosing them earlier, we save lives.

We are proud to offer this new technology for our patients.  We are committed to your overall health and are trained to diagnose different health dis-ease at your dental visit.  We are now offering this diagnostic test as part of our exams and are committed to helping America to be Cancer Free!
